Beautiful portrait of a woman from the 2nd century CE from Roman Egypt. The painting was made on wood and placed on an Egyptian mummy.

The so-called Fayum portraits (from the oasis of Fayoum in Egypt) was the so-called blackboard painting that was extremely popular in ancient times. About 900 such paintings have survived our times.
