Wonderful ribbed glass bowl from Roman times

A wonderful ribbed glass bowl from Roman times. Dated to late 1st BCE – early 1st century CE. The object has a diameter of 13 cm.

As the “Metropolitan Museum of Art” indicates, the colors of the object are: transparent, dark purple and opaque white. This type of dish – ribbed – was popular on Roman tables. Made of the semi-precious agate mineral – hence the intriguing marks on the vessel.
