281 Roman coins have been discovered in Lincolnshire

In 2017, in a field in Lincolnshire (Eastern England), two treasure hunters discovered an amazing treasure – 281 Roman coins dating back 1700 years.

The coins are made of bronze and show Emperor Constantine I, his successors and members of the imperial family. The treasure was buried around 340 CE. near Spilsby. The coins were minted in Arles, Lyon or Rome itself.

The unearthed objects will be sold at the Hansons Auctioneers auction on August 23.
