Drachma with image of Antoninus Pius was discovered
A bronze drachma was discovered in Israel, which was probably minted by the Roman emperor Antoninus Pius (who ruled in the years 138-161 CE). The coin was minted in Alexandria.
According to the researchers, it is an extremely rare find and the first of its kind in Israel. Drachma was a frequently used currency in the eastern territories of the Roman Empire.
