Extremely interesting tour of underground part of Diocletian’s aqueduct in Split

CroLove.pl website describes a fascinating journey through the preserved part of the Roman aqueduct in Split (Croatia). The tour takes place underground and the construction demonstrates the engineering genius of the ancient Romans.

The aqueduct was built between the end of the 3rd century and the beginning of the 4th century CE. The water was taken from the Jadro River – 9 km northeast of Split. The difference in height from which the water was transported was 13 meters. The decrease, in turn, is equal to 3% along the length of the entire aqueduct. Video from the trip below.
