Phallus image was discovered near the Hadrian's wall
Archaeologists working in the vicinity of Hadrian’s wall found an image of a phallus engraved in the wall of a quarry.
These types of images were popular in ancient Rome and commonly found on city streets. The phallus in the ancient world was a sign of good luck. The engraving is dated to 207 CE and it was probably made by soldiers stationed there – they were most probably renovating the wall.
