Israeli researchers discovered the positions of Roman siege machines used during the famous siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE.

Scientists in their research relied on the local topography, the location of the Second Temple wall, and above all, the use of computer ballistic calculations on discovered ancient missiles.

As it turns out, a large part of the Roman ballistae that ejected stones was located in Cat Square (Khatulot Square), near the present city center.
