Remains of Roman object near Cambridge have been discovered

During the excavations preceding the construction works for the new housing estate in Bottisham (near Cambridge), the remains of a Roman camp were found.

The excavations lasted three months and were commissioned by the developer, due to the construction site – an area rich in historical finds. To the joy of scientists, the remains of Roman buildings were excavated from the ground, which was part of a rural villa complex dating back to the 2nd-4th century CE. In the opinion of researchers, the structures were former termes.

In addition, at the site of discovery, various types of artefacts were found, including the 4th-century coin of Constantine II, ceramic tiles, stone objects or a ceramic vessel imported from the continent.
