Roman school of gladiators in Pompeii restored

Eight years ago – as a result of heavy rains – the gladiator school in Pompeii collapsed. The following years, the scientists spent on conservation work. In the end, tourists can again admire the preserved monument. Schola Armaturarum can be visited on Thursdays.

This building was mainly used for gladiator training. During the renovation, the researchers also discovered that there were rooms in the building, where feasts were organized. There were found numerous amphorae, jars for oil, wine, garum.
