Roman villa in Wiltshire was discovered by accident

In 2016, a Roman villa was discovered by accident in Wiltshire, southern England. The owner of the house, who was laying electrical cables in his garden, found the remains of the building.

While working in the garden, the man came across a Roman mosaic. As it turned out later, hundreds of oyster shells were also found, brought in barrels filled with seawater. This proves that this villa was once inhabited by a wealthy family.

Scientists say that the building was built between 175 and 220 CE.
