The object was built in the years 16-15 BCE and was dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/marek-wipsaniusz-agrypa\/\">Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa<\/a>, a faithful friend and leader of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/oktawian-august\/\">Emperor Octavian Augustus<\/a>. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The building was renovated under the rule of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/trajan\/\">Trajan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/hadrian\/\">Hadrian<\/a>; in total, it could accommodate about 6,000 viewers.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, after the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-constitution\/roman-empire\/causes-of-fall-of-roman-empire\/\">fall of Rome<\/a>, the building was forgotten and was gradually covered with successive layers of earth and dust.
