This was largely due to the influence at the Roman court achieved by <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/sejan\/\">Sejanus<\/a> &#8211; the praetorian prefect &#8211; who sought to seize power and surrounded himself with trusted people.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The discovery of the plot and the murder of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/sejanus\/\">Sejanus<\/a> in 31 CE relatively stabilized the situation in the country, but <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/tiberius\/\">Tiberius<\/a> still had a bad reputation among the aristocracy. An example is the message of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/suetonius\/\">Suetonius<\/a> that the ruler was constantly insulted by society.
