{"id":107891,"date":"2022-07-09T21:28:34","date_gmt":"2022-07-09T19:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/?post_type=ciekawostki&#038;p=107891"},"modified":"2022-07-09T21:28:34","modified_gmt":"2022-07-09T19:28:34","slug":"extremely-raw-galba","status":"publish","type":"ciekawostki","link":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/curiosities\/extremely-raw-galba\/","title":{"rendered":"Extremely raw Galba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/galba\/\"><b>Galba<\/b><\/a> (3 BCE &#8211; 69 CE) became famous as one of the &#8220;four <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-constitution\/roman-empire\/roman-emperors\/\">emperors<\/a> of 69 CE&#8221; who assumed power in <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/roman-cities\/rome-eternal-city\/\">Rome<\/a> after his death <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/neron\/\">Nero<\/a>. For the first half of Nero&#8217;s reign, he retired until 61 CE. Later, the ruler of Rome commissioned him to lead the province of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/roman-provinces\/list-of-roman-provinces\/roman-hispania\/\">Hispania<\/a> Tarraconensis<\/em>, where he &#8220;governed the provinces in a variable and capricious manner,&#8221; as <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/suetonius\/\">Suetonius<\/a> told us. However, what is worth emphasizing, he was extremely strict in his rule. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Suetonius says, for example, that a certain banker who exchanged money dishonestly was punished by cutting off his hands and nailing them to the banker&#8217;s table.<\/p>\n<p>Another time, <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/galba\/\">Galba<\/a> ordered a certain guardian to be crucified for poisoning his prot\u00e9g\u00e9, who was to take a large inheritance.
