The armor certainly belonged to a soldier of the 5th cohort of the Gauls, an auxilia unit that had been brought from present-day France.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The individual rings are 7 mm wide and were attached by riveting alternating rows, which made them tedious and expensive to produce.
