The monument is a replica of a denarius of this emperor, enlarged to one meter in diameter, discovered on that spot during archaeological research conducted there a few years ago. These excavations revealed the existence of a very large Przeworsk Culture settlement in the 2nd century CE. The coin-shaped monument is placed on a black marble pedestal imported from Scandinavia, the place of origin of the settlement&#8217;s inhabitants.
