However, this is contradicted by the fact that his mother &#8211; Aurelia Cotta, died only in 54 BCE, while in ancient <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/roman-cities\/rome-eternal-city\/\">Rome<\/a> the law allowed to perform a caesarean section only on a deceased pregnant woman<sup class=\"footnote\" data-qtip=\"The so-called lex Regia instauted by Numa Pompilius; later lex Cesarea. Fadel, Postmortem and Perimortem Cesarean Section: Historical, Religious and Ethical Considerations\" data-footid=\"2\">2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The family of <em>Julia Caesares<\/em> occurs in preserved sources from the 3rd century BCE and before the great Caesar, there were many of his ancestors with the same name (<em>praenomen<\/em>), surname (<em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-society\/roman-names-and-nicknames\/\">nomen<\/a><\/em>) and nickname (<em>cognomen<\/em>).
