Interestingly, the ruler himself killed pregnant empress, whom he kicked in the stomach. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Emperor Nero&#8217;s second wife was not burnt as it was in the Roman custom. Her body was <b>embalmed<\/b> and deposited in the mausoleum of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/augustus\/\">Augustus<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/publius-cornelius-tacitus\/\">Tacitus<\/a> rather sarcastically indicates that her body has been &#8220;perfumed&#8221; with <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-society\/hygiene-in-ancient-romans\/ancient-roman-perfume\/\">perfumes<\/a> and oils after having previously performed foreign rituals.
