It is the largest and best preserved Roman gate that has survived to our times.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Romans built a gate in 49 CE in the founded Colchester. In the year 60 CE the city was completely destroyed by the uprising of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/curiosities\/boudica-warrior-queen-of-celts\/\">Boudica<\/a>.
