Dated back to 1st &#8211; 2nd century CE. Found in London.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The object measures 1 cm wide, and was found in the remains of a ruined house. Large amounts of ceramics and animal bones were found with it. The find reveals a large closed gladiator helmet of the type <em>murmillo<\/em>. The gladiator was armed with a short sword <em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-army\/equipment-of-roman-legionary\/gladius-roman-sword\/\">gladius<\/a><\/em> and a rectangular shield <em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-army\/equipment-of-roman-legionary\/scutum\/\">scutum<\/a><\/em>. He usually fought with Thracian.<\/p>\n<p>Amber was a valuable material that was imported from the north. According to Roman writer <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/pliniusz-starszy\/\">Pliny the Elder<\/a>, amber amulets protected children from diseases.
