The object is dated to the 3rd century CE.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Armor and helmet were discovered in the Egyptian city of Manfalut and are made entirely of crocodile leather.<\/p>\n<p>According to scientists, the Roman garrison which stationed in the area was strongly integrated with the local community and religious customs. It seems, therefore, that &#8220;crocodile armor&#8221; had only a parade function and was worn during processions or religious ceremonies.
