This flower was associated with numerous religious rituals, imposing the obligation of secrecy on all persons participating in the ceremony.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/neighboring-lands-around-ancient-rome\/ancient-egypt\/\">ancient Egypt<\/a>, the rose represented, among others Horus, whom the Greeks later identified with Harpokrates &#8211; the god of secrets. In Roman and Greek myths, <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-religion\/gods-of-ancient-rome\/list-of-roman-gods\/venus-roman-goddess\/\">Venus<\/a> (Aphrodite) gave a rose to Amor (Eros), who in turn gave it to Harpocrates.
