The object is dated to the 2nd century CE and it&#8217;s made of bronze.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This type of dish was referred to as <em> trulla <\/em>. It originally had a handle and was a small pot for cooking <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-society\/eating-habits-of-romans\/\">food<\/a> or water. Interestingly, the vessel has inscriptions that were first engraved and then filled with enamel.<\/p>\n<p>The inscriptions mention successive Roman forts constituting <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-art-and-culture\/roman-architecture\/roman-buildings\/roman-defense-walls\/hadrians-wall\/\">Hadrian&#8217;s wall<\/a>: <em>MAIS, COGGABATA, VXELODVNVM, CAMMOGLANNA<\/em>.
