{"id":85210,"date":"2020-11-25T22:10:12","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T21:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/?post_type=ciekawostki&#038;p=85210"},"modified":"2020-11-25T22:10:12","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T21:10:12","slug":"principia-museum-roman-museum-in-romania","status":"publish","type":"ciekawostki","link":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/curiosities\/principia-museum-roman-museum-in-romania\/","title":{"rendered":"Principia Museum &#8211; Roman museum in Romania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the city of Alba Iulia (ancient Apulum) in central Romania, there is an extremely interesting museum where we can admire many interesting objects related to ancient <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/roman-cities\/rome-eternal-city\/\">Rome<\/a>. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Principia Museum has the foundations of the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-army\/roman-camp\/\">Roman camp<\/a> where the XIII Gemina <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-army\/units-of-roman-army\/roman-legion\/\">legion<\/a> once stationed. Apulum was created during Trajan&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/wojny\/wojny-dackie-trajana\/\">Dacian wars<\/a> at the beginning of the 2nd century CE and was a strong fortification on the northern border of the Empire.<\/p>\n<p>In the museum, we can see, among others statues of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/trajan\/\">Trajan<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/hadrian\/\">Hadrian<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/marcus-aurelius\/\">Marcus Aurelius<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/septimius-severus\/\">Septimius Severus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/caracalla\/\">Caracalla<\/a>.
