In the northwest of the Lilybaeum Archaeological Park, there are remains of the Roman baths from the 3rd-2nd century BCE. Archaeologists also found traces of an older defensive structure on which baths were built.<\/p>\n
Currently, only the remains of hypocaustum<\/a><\/em> with praefurnium<\/em> (heating furnace) – that is, under-floor heating system – are visible in the archaeological park. The thermal baths certainly had a hot water pool (caldarium<\/em>) and warm water (tepidarium<\/em>).<\/p>\n The floor in the baths was covered with small white pebbles (tesserae<\/em>) and fragments of marble slabs – only small fragments have survived.<\/p>\n The object is located in the Parco Archeologico di Lilibeo in Marsala (Sicily<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\t\t
