The beginning of Caesar&#8217;s laudation (<em>laudatio funebris<\/em>) was preserved in the work of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/suetonius\/\">Suetonius<\/a>, in which he praised the origin of the family. <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"center\">\n<p class=\"quote\">The family of my aunt Julia is descended by her mother from the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-constitution\/roman-kingdom\/roman-kings\/\">kings<\/a>, and on her father&#8217;s side is akin to the immortal <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-religion\/gods-of-ancient-rome\/\">Gods<\/a>; for the Marcii Reges (her mother&#8217;s family name) go back to <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/ancus-marcius\/\">Ancus Marcius<\/a>, and the Julii, the family of which ours is a branch, to <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-religion\/gods-of-ancient-rome\/list-of-roman-gods\/venus-roman-goddess\/\">Venus<\/a>.
