Once captured, the wild <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/article\/animals-and-hunting-in-world-of-romans\/\">animals<\/a> were kept in large cages to keep them calm and to prevent them from being hurt.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The transport of animals to the coast usually took place to the nearest possible port; the mosaic probably shows the port in <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/geografia\/krainy-sasiednie-rzymu\/kartagina\/\">Carthage<\/a>.
