It is worth mentioning that in Ridley Scott&#8217;s first film, scenes were also shot in Malta.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The photos are to be taken mainly at Fort Ricasoli, a large fortification in Kalkara. According to the producers of &#8220;Gladiator 2&#8221;, the new film is to be much &#8220;bigger&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, we know that the cast will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paul Mescal, who will play Lucius, son of Lucilla;<\/li>\n<li>Connie Nielsen to play Lucilla (as in the original);<\/li>\n<li>Barry Keoghan, possibly as Geta;<\/li>\n<li>Joseph Quinn as Caracalla;<\/li>\n<li>Denzel Washington, role unknown;<\/li>\n<li>Pedro Pascal, role unknown.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The screenwriter is David Scarpa.
