{"id":103315,"date":"2022-03-10T21:30:18","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T20:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/?post_type=odkrycia-rzymskie&#038;p=103315"},"modified":"2022-03-10T21:30:18","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T20:30:18","slug":"man-with-metal-detector-found-coins-from-roman-times","status":"publish","type":"odkrycia-rzymskie","link":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/discoveries\/man-with-metal-detector-found-coins-from-roman-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Man with metal detector found coins from Roman times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the small village of Kelshall, located between London and Cambridge, in 2015, a man, while exploring the earth with a metal detector, found a unique specimen: a very well-preserved tomb from Roman times, in which unique artefacts were found &#8211; including bronze jugs, coins, <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-art-and-culture\/roman-mosaic\/\">mosaic<\/a> pieces and studs from a pair of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/curiosities\/ancient-romans-footwear\/\">shoes<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>One of the coins shows <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/trajan\/\">Trajan<\/a>, while the other probably served as payment to Charon. The finds date back to around 200 CE. The tomb (1.9 x 1.6 meters) probably belonged to a wealthy inhabitant.
