There used to be a Thracian city at the discovery site &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/roman-cities\/serdica\/\">Serdica<\/a>, renamed by the Romans <em>Ulpia Serdica<\/em>. The coins were found in an earthen pot with the name of the owner of the treasure &#8211; one named <em>Selvius Calistus<\/em>. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Coins have been minted for over 100 years. The earliest coin comes from the time of Emperor <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/vespasian\/\">Vespasian<\/a>, who ruled the Empire in 69-79 CE. The oldest ones come from the reign of Emperor <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/biographies\/commodus\/\">Commodus<\/a> (177-192 CE). Among the treasury, you can find many coins that were created between these years.<\/p>\n<p>Experts have already started researching the numerous find and are carrying out renovation activities. After the works are completed, the treasure is to be displayed to visitors at the Sofia History Museum.
