The nymphaeum was the end of the water pipe, a kind of fountain, often decorated with great splendor, where from a height of several floors, through facades decorated with statues and columns, water fell into flat pools.<\/p>\n<p>Scientists hoped to dig into the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-art-and-culture\/roman-mosaic\/\">mosaic<\/a>, which has probably been underground for 1600 years. The excavations are part of a five-year plan to better explore the northern part of the villa and learn about the condition of the preserved structure.
