IMPERIUM ROMANUM has received information about an interesting discovery in England. The discoverer is Mr Mariusz Ja\u017cd\u017cyk, vice-leader of the Team of Yorkshire MDG Club. This is undoubtedly a great success of Polish exploration in Great Britain.<\/p>\n
As stated by the discoverer:<\/p>\n
\nI’ve been having dreams for some time that there’s a jug of Roman deniers hidden on my farm. So I decided to go and check it out. I’ve marked out lines of about 30 meters to be searched. The target was a fallen tree. And so I walked back and forth and there was no silence, when I was maybe 2 meters away from the end I doubted and was about to go somewhere else, but I said ok\u00a0I’ll get to the end. I took a few steps and there is a very clear signal. Dig a hole, and there find a silver-coloured find. After this incident, I know that it is not worth giving up quickly1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
As it turned out, this find is an extremely rare denarius of a Roman usurper in Britain in the years 286-293 CE. Marcus Aurelius<\/a> Mausaeus Carausius<\/em> (Carausius). The obverse reads IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG<\/em>; on the reverse: AVG COIN.<\/em> The coin is in perfect condition and, according to the auction house where this denarius will be put up for sale after prior notification to the PAS finds database, it can fetch up to \u00a312,000.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
