In 2017, in the necropolis of Beir Al-Shaghala (Egypt), in the Western Desert, five tombs from the Roman period of Egypt, made of mud and bricks, were discovered. The find was made by an Egyptian archaeological mission.<\/p>\n

A discovered tombs have different shapes and structures. The first one has an entrance leading to a rectangular chamber with two burial chambers; the other, in turn, has one chamber. The third tomb has the shape of a pyramid. The fourth and fifth tombs share a common entrance, with separate burial chambers.<\/p>\n

The actual excavation work is yet to begin. So far, artefacts have been excavated: the remains of death masks, showing human faces, painted yellow; numerous fragments of vessels; two ostraca, one with hieroglyphs and the other with a hieratic.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
