The find comes from excavations on the Via Alessandrina, on the site of the former Porticus Trisigmentata\u2014a monumental colonnade that served as the entrance to Trajan&#8217;s Forum.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The head likely formed part of a massive statue, but it was not in its original location \u2013 it was reused in the Middle Ages as a building material.
