In eastern Serbia, in Viminacium, an early Christian tomb was discovered that dates back to the beginning of the 3rd century CE. Human remains were buried in an ordinary grave. Originally, it was believed that the deceased belonged to a low social class.<\/p>\n
However, numerous items were found near the body that proves the higher status of the man: a massive silver ring with a concave semi-precious stone, a bronze coin, a coil of gold wire, a bronze compass and an iron tool, and a belt buckle was found near the waist.<\/p>\n
There is a symbol of early Christianity<\/a> on the ring – a cross-shaped anchor and two fish.<\/p>\n The skeleton is 1.73 meters long; the deceased was placed on his back, with the right hand folded over his stomach, and the left hand stretched along the body.<\/p>\n
