{"id":92314,"date":"2021-05-08T09:23:58","date_gmt":"2021-05-08T07:23:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/?post_type=odkrycia-rzymskie&#038;p=92314"},"modified":"2021-05-08T09:23:58","modified_gmt":"2021-05-08T07:23:58","slug":"discovered-2000-year-old-head-of-emperor-augustus","status":"publish","type":"odkrycia-rzymskie","link":"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/discoveries\/discovered-2000-year-old-head-of-emperor-augustus\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovered 2,000-year-old head of Emperor Augustus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Italian town of Isernia, in the southern part of Italy, a two-thousand-year-old marble head has been discovered that appears to represent the young <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/biografie\/oktawian-august\/\">Octavian Augustus<\/a> &#8211; the first emperor of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-geography\/roman-cities\/rome-eternal-city\/\">Rome<\/a>. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The discovery took place during renovation works carried out at the medieval walls of the city.<\/p>\n<p>The object is 35 cm high and dates back to 20 BCE &#8211; 10 CE.
