The husband of the goddess <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-religion\/gods-of-ancient-rome\/list-of-roman-gods\/ops\/\">Ops<\/a>. Its symbol was an ear of grain.<\/p>\n<p>He was worshipped with Ops on August 25 and December 19 (<em>Opiconsualia<\/em>), during harvest and planting; and his own celebration was <b><em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-religion\/roman-feasts\/consualia\/\">Consualia<\/a><\/em><\/b> on August 21 and December 15. In the basement of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-art-and-culture\/roman-architecture\/roman-buildings\/circus-maximus\/\">Circus Maximus<\/a><\/em> there was a Consus Altar (<em>ara<\/em>), only available during Consualia.<\/p>\n<p><em>Flamen Quirinalis<\/em> and the Vestals took part in the rituals dedicated to Consus.<br \/>\nOver time, Consus was assigned new functions. As a patron of <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/article\/horses-in-ancient-rome\/\">horses<\/a>, he was identified with &#8220;Neptune Equestrian&#8221; (<em>Neptunus Equestris<\/em>). During the festival dedicated to god, mule and horse races were held, decorated with flowers and &#8220;off work&#8221;.
