The holiday symbolized the end of the harvest, and a similar holiday took place on December 19, when the storage of grain was celebrated.<\/p>\n<p>Often the holiday was also associated with <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-religion\/gods-of-ancient-rome\/list-of-roman-gods\/consus\/\">Consus<\/a>, the keeper of grains and underground containers for storing <a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/roman-society\/eating-habits-of-romans\/\">food<\/a> (silos). During the festival, the Vestal Virgins and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/imperiumromanum.pl\/en\/curiosities\/pontifex-maximus-between-religion-and-politics\/\">Pontifex Maximus<\/a><\/em>, dressed in white robes and carrying a <em>praefericulum &#8211; <\/em>a bronze offering bowl, entered the temple of the deity in Regia.
