Bust of Lucilla - daughter of Emperor Marcus Aurelius
Bust of Lucilla – the daughter of Emperor Marcus Aurelius and his wife Faustina the Younger. Lucilla was born around 149 CE and the bust dates from her marriage to Lucius Verus at 17/18 in 165 CE.
Interestingly, after her father’s death and assuming the throne by Commodus, she was sent to Capri, where she was also later murdered. This was due to the fact that she was involved in a conspiracy against Commodus.
