Roman bronze bust showing a certain Caius Norbanus Sorex – a Roman actor. The object is dated to 25 BCE – 14 CE.
The man’s bust was part of a herma, a column decorated with a sculpture. The artifact was found in the Temple of Isis area in Pompeii.
Sorex lived in Italy and operated mainly in Pompeii and Nemi during the reign of Emperor Octavian Augustus (27 BCE – 14 CE).
