Roman senators
Marcus Celius, during the civil war of Caesar and Pompey, allied himself with the first. For his services, he was awarded the praetor’s office.
In his office, he proposed a law that would discontinue citizens’ debts; it was rejected by the Senate. The embittered Celius in revenge joined the rebellion against Caesar. It is worth mentioning the fact that Titus Annius Milo also took part in the rebellion. Eventually, Celius was killed during the fight. That’s how his turbulent history ended.
