Ruins of a Roman villa in the ancient city of Nora, near modern Pula (Sardinia, Italy).
Originally the city of Nora was a Phoenician colony, but after the defeat of Carthage in First Punic War It fell into the hands of the Romans in 238 BCE. The city is mentioned, among others, by Tabula Peutingeriana, Roman road map. The city gradually fell into disrepair from the 5th century CE, after the island fell under Vandal control.
