Roman dark blue vase with white reliefs is an exceptional example of luxurious Roman artistic glasswork. The vessel is made of dark blue glass, decorated with delicate white reliefs depicting figurative scenes and decorative motifs. Such items were among the most prestigious objects in the Roman world and were intended for wealthy members of the elite.

The vase was discovered in 1837 in a burial chamber in Pompeii, a city destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE. Due to the catastrophe, many works of art and everyday objects have been preserved in excellent condition, providing an invaluable source of knowledge about the lives of the inhabitants of the Roman Empire.

These richly decorated glass vessels demonstrate the exceptionally high level of Roman artistic craftsmanship. Their creation required great skill and the use of advanced glass-working techniques, making them among the most prized luxury items of antiquity.
