Roman deadlift
This post is also available in: Polish (polski)
It is said that the ancient Greeks and Romans practised the deadlift (deadlift). Lifting a weight from the ground is the oldest “utility” movement and has been proven to be the most powerful for centuries. Heavy stones were grabbed and lifted off the ground.
Interestingly, according to the prevailing myth, Roman young soldiers after battles were ordered to pick up their fallen comrades from the battlefield and put them on carts. In this way, young recruits were accustomed to death and their backs were strengthened.
