Roman mosaic depicts a man lying in bed and his partner standing. The object is dated to 1st BCE – 1st century CE.
Interestingly, the mosaic was stolen during World War II by a Wehrmacht captain and languished in Germany for decades before being returned to Italy in 2025. Initially thought to have come from Pompeii, research has shown it was made in Latium.
