Roman tourniquet
Roman tourniquet. These types of objects have been used since the second century BCE until 5 CE.
Romans used tourniquets to control bleeding, especially during amputation. Such bands were narrow and made of bronze. For the comfort of the patient, leather was used to reduce the unpleasant grip and to protect the member.
At that time, the purpose of the operation was to save lives, and the focus was not on the need to keep a limb.
