Animation showing Ostia Antica - port of Rome

Ostia Antica was a port of Rome that derived its name from the word os, meaning “mouth”. We can admire this great port in all its glory thanks to computer reconstruction.

The animation was created by the team Colonia Ostiensis, which in the film shows the port at its peak in the 2nd century CE, when it was inhabited by 50,000 people.
