Animation showing Ostia Antica - port of Rome
Ostia Antica was a port of Rome that derived its name from the word os , meaning “mouth”. We can admire this great port in all its glory thanks to computer reconstruction.
The animation was created by the team Colonia Ostiensis , which in the film shows the port at its peak in the 2nd century CE, when it was inhabited by 50,000 people.
