In Georgia, scientists managed to find the Roman coins made of silver. The artifacts were minted at Caesarea and found close to each other in the Roman camp of Apsaros (now called Gonio), in Georgia.
The discovery is the result of the work of the combined expedition of Polish-Georgian archaeologists. The objects are dated from the early 2nd to the beginning of the 3rd century CE.
It is suspected that the coins are part of a larger treasure hidden in the camp by Roman soldiers, before heading for the Parthian expedition.
