Excavations in Izmit (Turkey), conducted in 2016, brought to light the stairs of a Roman temple, which may be up to 2000 years old.

The outdoor staircase has 17 steps. Below the stairs, you can see the remains of a tunnel that was probably connected to the stairs. During the early work, a statue of the goddess of health was found.

In the times of ancient Rome, Nicomedia (now Izmit) was a coastal city known for its beautiful palace sculptures.
