Anthony Hopkins as Vespasian in new series “Those About to Die”

On July 18, 2024, the new historical series “Those About to Die” is scheduled to premiere on the American stream “Peacock”. The action is to take place during the reign of Emperor Vespasian (69-79 CE), and the role of the ruler is to be played by the outstanding Anthony Hopkins.

The cast will also include Jojo Macari, who will play Domitian, and Tom Hughes, who will play Titus. The idea for the series came from Robert Rodat and will be directed by Roland Emmerich and Marco Kreuzpaintner.

The plot is intended to show Rome as bloody and focused on entertaining the crowd.
